Metal–shell heat transfer from a thermocouple – and the model finds the misrun at the blade tips
An Inconel 713C turbocharger wheel. A thermocouple in the mould and an inverse problem in ProCAST gave the metal–shell heat transfer coefficient – 1,050 W/(m²·K) at pouring and 62 at 200 °C. With it, the model put the misrun at the blade tips, where the casting had it.
